The hit TV show ends with a film that’s as awkward, hard to watch and hilarious as the show, but with an over-riding sense of friendship and growing up in its sight. Ending high school, the socially challenged protagonists take time to go on a holiday to Malia.
They arrive with only one thing in mind (sex) but it turns out to be a disaster for the most part. They are dropped into bad situations and awkward moments that result in the humour familiar to fans of the show, without losing the chemistry and friendship between the four characters stuck together.
This is a comedy not without heartfelt moments at times. Although it might feel like an extra-long extra special episode to the fans of the show, it’s a lot of fun and it’ll be even harder to look away when someone does something incredible inappropriate or when bad things happen, like one of our four throwing a child who can’t swim into a pool.
The Inbetweeners broke the record for biggest box office opening of any UK comedy, and you don’t even have to be a fan of the show to follow the movie or get some of the laughs. But obviously, it helps.
