Live Magazine is a free, quarterly magazine, website and youtube channel that is created by emerging creative talent from across the UK, with 50,000 copies distributed nationally.
The writing, illustration, design, filming, photography, fashion shoots, blogging, PR, marketing and social media are all done by Live’s contributors, whether they’re 15 year old music bloggers, 21 year old illustration graduates or 17 year olds with a mad talent for opinion.
All of this happens under the guidance of industry professionals who provide mentoring and support throughout the magazine’s production at our Brixton office. Our mentors include ex-editors and regular contributors to The Guardian, Observer, Vice, The Face, Dazed & Confused, Radio 1, NME Radio and include well-respected experts from a broad range of print, online and broadcast channels.
We’ve also developed amazing brand partnerships, and count YouTube, O2, Nando’s, Channel 4, the BFI, Barbican and BlackBerry amongst our band of friends, advertisers and supporters.
So what’s in Live? We reflect inner-city life and culture. We cover music, politics, fashion, sport, social issues, art and design and cover trends before they become mainstream. We dig deep into serious issues, and deal with them in a way that makes sense to our readers.
Oh, and Live is a major launch-pad for new talent. Our journalists, designers and online team have gone on to amazing things, whether it’s running the grime show on Rinse FM, writing for The Guardian or racking up thousands of views on their YouTube channel.
We have official partnerships with Guardian, You Tube and Dazed & Confused – and have just launched our sister publication in South Africa, with 50,000 copies going out across Cape Town and Johannesburg. All created by young people.
