Final Verdict
We’re far from impressed with Burn TS. This is a low quality fat burner. Burn TS is just a small serving of green tea and a little caffeine coupled with some useless herbs. That’s it. It is essentially just a glorified cup of caffeinated green tea! We don’t think you are going to see great gains using Burn TS. We certainly don’t know why anybody would pay £50 for such a weak, low-grade fat burner! That is the same price as some of the best fat burning supplements on the market right now.
Our Burn TS Review
Burn TS is a fat burner made and sold by Dietspotlight – the incredibly popular if somewhat unreliable supplement review website. These guys are one of the biggest sports supplement blogs in the world. They review everything from diet pills and testosterone boosters to greens powders and diet books. Burn TS is obviously their attempt at capitalizing on their significant web traffic.
So what does Burn TS do? How does it claim to work?
According to the manufacturer, Burn TS is an “advanced weight control formula” which delivers:
- Accelerated metabolism
- Higher energy levels
- Greater weight loss
It’s important to note here that Burn TS says that it is a weight loss supplement, not a fat loss supplement.
This is an important distinction. Some supplements are designed to maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss. They do this through a combination of promoting lipolysis, controlling appetite, improving insulin sensitivity, promoting anabolism, and enhancing athletic performance.
Other supplements focus merely on weight loss. They can work in any number of ways; most of them time, they combine aggressive water loss with a hefty stimulant dose of crash your appetite.
Obviously, we’re more interested in the first kind of supplement – the real fat burners!
The latter kind can severely hurt your physique, your training, and your health. No thanks!

Burn TS Ingredients
Let’s check out the Burn TS ingredients list to see what it can really do:
This is hardly a top quality fat burner. Right away we notice that the formula is partly made up of a proprietary blend containing unproven, ineffective herbs.
The rest of the formula is just caffeine and green tea powder – hardly revolutionary. All-in-all, Burn TS looks like a poor fat burner.
Of course, it must be said that Burn TS does contain some good ingredients.
Caffeine is a powerful stimulant which can be extremely useful during a cutting phase. When you’re in a caloric deficit, you’re going to feel exhausted pretty much 24/7. Your training will suffer, your work will suffer, and you’ll just feel run down.
Caffeine keeps you energized and focused in work and in the gym.
We also get a decent dose of high quality green tea extract from Burn TS. The extract used here is high in EGCG, which is the key fat burning component of green tea.
Together, these ingredients will make your cut both easier and more productive.
Yet these ingredients aren’t exactly unique in a fat burner. Pretty much every stack on the market today provides both of these ingredients in significantly larger quantities.
The rest of the Burn TS formula is totally useless. So really, in buying Burn TS you’re paying ~£50 to get a small dose of green tea and about a coffee’s worth of caffeine.
Overall then, Burn TS is a low-quality fat burner. Bette products are out there, especially for this price.
We’ll now run through these points in a little more detail.
Main Strengths
- Uses a high-quality green tea extract
- Contains a fairly good dose of caffeine
We won’t be recommending Burn TS to our readers anytime soon. But there are definitely some strong points to the formula which are worth going through in more detail.
Burn TS contains a very high-quality green tea extract – 200mg of 70% EGCG extract to be exact.
EGCG is a catechin found naturally in green tea. It is this compound which is thought to have the fat burning effects associated with green tea consumption.
Studies have found that EGCG stimulates fat metabolism directly. One clinical trial has even found that EGCG might promote fat loss independently of caffeine intake or increases in activity level (source). So in other words, EGCG is a pure fat burner – it tells your body to use stored fat for energy.
Normally, the amount of EGCG that you get from a cup of green tea is quite small. That’s why fat burners will usually either contain a large amount of green tea powder or a highly concentrated green tea extract.
Burn TS provides an extremely high quality green tea extract. Very few fat burners on the market right now offer an extract that is 70% EGCG. Most use either whole green tea leaf powder or a general high-polyphenol extract. Burn TS is setting a high standard here.
That said, the green tea dose in Burn TS is rather low. Since it is one of the only active ingredients in Burn TS, it has to do the bulk of the work. We could happily see this dose doubled.
Burn TS also provides some caffeine – 75mg per serving.
Caffeine is a superb natural fat burner. It has a direct effect on fat metabolism, increasing baseline metabolic rate.
In other words, consuming caffeine forces your body to burn more calories at rest. This puts you into a deeper relative caloric deficit without you having to drop yet more food from your diet or without having to up the cardio.
Not only that, but caffeine can keep you motivated and energized in the gym despite being low on fuel.
While dieting, your performance at work and in the gym can suffer a lot. Getting through your day at the office can become a total grind, and you will quickly find that you lack the motivation to even get your main lifts done in the gym – never mind accessory work.
Caffeine reduces the perception of fatigue, increases energy levels, and enhances power output. It also enhances focus and promotes motivation.
Caffeine is in many ways the perfect substance to use while you cut. It increases your metabolic rate while supercharging your workouts – ideal!
The only problem is that Burn TS provides just 75mg of caffeine. This is about the same amount that you’ll get from a small Americano.
It is far less than the standard 200mg you get from even mid-range fat burners today, and it is a hell of a lot less than the 300-400mg per day we get from top quality, professional fat burners like Instant Knockout.
Main Weaknesses
- No appetite suppressant
- Garcinia Cambogia unproven
- No chili extract
- Green tea & caffeine not an interesting stack
Burn TS contains some good fat burners.
Taken together, green tea and caffeine can significantly enhance the results you see from each cutting phase. This is especially true of the high EGCG green tea extract we get from Burn TS – this will maximize fat loss without necessarily causing an equal loss of muscle mass (as happens to most people when they diet hard).
But the problem is that Burn TS is pretty much just caffeine and green tea – ingredients that are totally standard in fat burners today.
Burn TS does not contain any of the other staple ingredients which we get from the vast majority of fat loss supplements on the market right now.
For example, Burn TS does not contain any kind of appetite suppressant.
For us, this is a huge flaw in a weight loss supplement. Suppressing appetite, reducing hunger pains and keeping the desire to snack at bay are things we need to get from a fat burner.
In our experience, staying disciplined on a diet over the course of a cut – perhaps for as long as 20 weeks – is what most people struggle with.
Getting to the gym, doing your cardio, drinking enough water; these things are probably easy for you. But staying away from the fridge when you’re still ravenous after dinner and you know you have 12 hours until your next meal – that is HARD!
This is why most professional-quality fat burners will provide something which reduces hunger, increases post-meal satiety, or helps keep you full all day long.
Modern fat burners achieve this in a few different ways. The most effective way in our opinion is the use of bulking agents – substances which expand and thicken in the stomach, naturally making you feel fuller for longer despite eating such small meals.
Burn TS doesn’t provide anything which will effectively suppress your appetite.
Now some of you will say, “but what about Garcinia Cambogia?”
Isn’t that an appetite suppressant?
Garcinia Cambogia is definitely said to be an appetite suppressant, but we have never seen any compelling evidence proving that this is the case. Garcinia Cambogia seems to increase satisfaction with food, but not necessarily increase fullness.
Every study that has looked at Garcinia and weight loss has found that it has, at best, a small effect. It doesn’t necessarily reduce fat either; the studies just say “weight” (source).
So as far as we’re concerned Burn TS does not contain any appetite suppressants aside from a small dose of caffeine. This is a serious flaw for such an expensive fat burner!
We could go on about the ingredients missing from Burn TS. There’s no Chili Extract, no B Vitamins, no Green Coffee Bean Extract, no Glucomannan or African Mango; to be blunt, there’s not a lot in Burn TS! Just some green tea and caffeine.
What Is Sphaeranthus Indicus?
Sphaeranthus indicus is a flowering plant which more commonly goes by the name East Indian Globe Thistle.
Sphaeranthus indicus has been used as a kind of general health-promoting plant by native populations throughout Australasia. It is said to be an anti-inflammatory, a cure for infections, a general immunity booster, and so on.
We cannot find a shred of evidence showing that it has a positive effect on body composition.
There is no reason why we think this stuff should be included in Burn TS. It is not a fat burner in any way; it cannot even be said to have a supporting role or secondary effect like B Vitamins, Chromium, and so on.
Sphaeranthus indicus could easily be the largest ingredient in Burn TS. The fact that we aren’t given dosing information for both Garcinia and Sphaeranthus indicus is a big red flag for us.
Never trust proprietary blends, however small or seemingly harmless – they’re always A RIP-OFF!
Burn TS Side Effects – Is It A Safe Fat Burner?
One thing we can say about Burn TS is that it does not look like a dangerous supplement at all.
We think you are highly unlikely to experience any side effects while using Burn TS.
It is certainly unlikely that any side effects you do experience will be severe – the only things you’re probably going to experience while using this fat burner are stomach cramps, some mild jitters, or a little bit of hypertension.
The only ingredient in here really capable of causing side effects is caffeine, and we only get 75mg.
That is about the same amount of caffeine we get from a single shot of espresso. If you are extremely sensitive to caffeine, then this will be enough to cause some side effects such as jitters, headaches, nausea, hypertension, dizziness, and anxiety.
If you are sensitive to caffeine, you might want to check out a stimulant-free fat burner like Performance Lab SPORT Fat Burner.
But if you are fine with caffeine, an extra 75mg per day is unlikely to make a great deal of difference.
Please calculate your existing caffeine intake carefully before adding in any more from supplements. The 75mg you get from Burn TS might not be much to cause problems, but it might if you are already consuming a lot through other supplements.
CAUTION
You must remember the following facts while reading our supplement reviews:
- We are not doctors
- This is not medical advice
It is vital that you do your own research carefully and consult your regular GP before you use any fat burners. It doesn’t matter how safe it looks or what we say about it. You need to get your regular doctor’s opinion before you proceed.
Burn TS Review Summary – Is This A Good Fat Burner?
Burn TS is not a scam diet pill. However, it is not a good fat burner either. As far as weight loss supplements go, it is extremely weak, its effects are limited, and it is very over-priced.
The only effective ingredients in Burn TS are caffeine and green tea.
While these both do have serious fat burning properties, they do not make for a top quality fat burner by themselves. They are standard ingredients which you can get from tea and coffee – no need to pay £50 just for these substances!
In any case the caffeine dose is low – Burn TS provides just 75mg per serving. This is way less than the 200-350mg we get from professional fat loss aids today.
Garcinia Cambogia is unproven. The studies which have found it to be effective for promoting weight loss have only ever found a tiny effect. The studies also find that it helps with weight loss, not fat loss specifically.
We don’t know how much Garcinia we get from Burn TS anyway – the blend could be just East Indian Globe Thistle, which does nothing.
If you’re looking for a supplement to help you get more out of your next cut, then there are far better products out there than Burn TS.
Burn TS is a weak fat burner with very few active ingredients and limited potential. No appetite suppression, no chili extracts, and no green coffee bean. SNORE!
