Final Verdict
This isn’t a bad fat burner, all things considered. BurnerTEK v2.0 contains some excellent ingredients, the doses are pretty good in places, and it covers all of the most important bases – greater caloric expenditure, appetite control, blood sugar control, and energy levels. It is definitely an all-round fat burner.
However, there are some serious flaws to this product which really hurt both the value for money and the end results that users are likely to see. It contains a lot of dead weight. Garcinia Cambogia is a fad – it just makes food taste better; it doesn’t do anything for appetite control or fat loss. The doses are also really low in places. Tumeric doesn’t have much of an effect on fat loss, but even if it did, 100mg wouldn’t! We could also definitely see more caffeine in here, especially as there’s theanine to take the edge off the side effects. Overall, BurnerTEK v2.0 is not a bad fat burner at all. But it isn’t the best. Not by a long shot!
Our BurnerTEK v2.0 Review
TEK Naturals is now a big name in the supplement industry. These guys specialize in hardcore bodybuilding supplements. They do also have a nootropic on offer, and we’re sure they’re going to expand their range again in the future. But for now, they concentrate on sports performance supplements. BurnerTEK fat burner was their flagship product. It has remained pretty popular since its launch a few years ago, and now version 2.0 promises to make things even better.
What does BurnerTEK do then?
Should you be considering it?
TEK Naturals aren’t shy about making promises to their users. The bottle lists some great benefits which you can expect from using BurnerTEK:
- Reduced appetite
- “Block” fat storage
- Naturally increased energy
- rapidly burned “stored” fat
Now, some of these promises need a little clarifying.
It isn’t possible to “block” fat storage completely. There’s no natural substance capable of doing this; we’re not even sure it’s physiologically possible. Doing so would just be dangerous anyway. You can make it more difficult for the body to store fat, but that’s a different thing – the effect is indirect.
It’s also important to note that BurnerTEK promises to decrease appetite “safely”. That’s a big selling point for us. Too many fat burners just fill you up with stimulants which switch off your appetite. This definitely helps you lose weight, but it’s not good for the body.
Besides, if you want to train while burning fat, then you need to EAT!
We don’t want an artificially suppressed appetite. We just want better hunger control.
Anyway, if what TEK Naturals say about this product is anything to go by, this is a solid all-round fat burner.
But can BurnerTEK really do all of these things?
Does it work? Is it really as safe as they say?
Read our full BurnerTEK review below to find out. We take a good, hard look at the formula to see what’s really going on here. We’ll talk about safety, side effects, and value for money too. BurnerTEK v2.0 Formula
Let’s get right into it. Here is the BurnerTEK ingredients list:
Not bad at all!
This formula contains a few top notch fat burners. The doses look good in all the important places too. Taken together, these ingredients will definitely help you lose more fat with less effort during your next cutting phase.
However, it isn’t a perfect formula by any means.
This isn’t the best fat burner we’ve ever seen. BurnerTEK is flawed in some pretty serious ways.
Some of the ingredients in here don’t really do anything. Garcinia Cambogia, for example, doesn’t seem to actually decrease appetite. The studies just indicate that it makes people more satisfied with their meals. We hate paying for anything that doesn’t actively contribute to our goals.
Some of the ingredients are also dosed too low for our liking. We could happily have an extra 100mg of caffeine in here, especially since we have theanine to take the edge off the side effects.
All in all, BurnerTEK v2.0 is not a bad fat burner. Nor is it particularly great.
Let’s go through some of the main strengths and weaknesses in more detail.
Main Strengths
- Good range of ingredients – covers all important bases
- Good dose of Green Tea Extract
- Great to see a standardized Chili Extract in use
- Uses Glucoamannan
There are a lot of strengths here that we need to go through.
The biggest selling point of this fat burner is the fact that it covers all of the most important aspects that a fat burner should deal with, and it covers them well.
For example, each serving of BurnerTEK contains 500mg of highly potent, standardized green tea extract.
Every fat burner should contain this ingredient – PERIOD.
We all know that the polyphenols in green tea reduce inflammation, protect against oxidative damage, and so on.
But few people know that a catechin in green tea called EGCG has incredibly powerful fat burning properties.
Large-scale population studies have observed that green tea consumption is associated with reduced fat gain (ref). More targeted studies have looked at the acute effects of green tea extract supplementation on body composition. In almost all of these studies, the results have been very encouraging.
In this clinical trial, for example, researchers gave 10 healthy participants either a high-EGCG extract, caffeine, or placebo. They then measured their 24-hour energy expenditure and their respiratory quotient. Their findings are definitely worth quoting in full:
“Relative to placebo, treatment with the green tea extract resulted in a significant increase in 24-h EE (4%; P < 0.01) and a significant decrease in 24-h RQ…Green tea has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation beyond that explained by its caffeine content per se. The green tea extract may play a role in the control of body composition via sympathetic activation of thermogenesis, fat oxidation, or both.” (Published 1999 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition).
Other studies have found that it may directly stimulate lipolysis (fat burning), suppress the body’s tendency to store fat, and more.
This is why we want to see a high-EGCG green tea extract in every single fat burner on the market today. Green tea has a direct effect on energy expenditure. That BurnerTEK contains 500mg of top quality extract is a major selling point as far as we’re concerned.
We also get a very decent serving of Cayenne Chili from BurnerTEK – 100mg per day.
The Cayenne Chili in BurnerTEK is standardized to 40,000SHU, or Scoville Heat Units for those of you that aren’t chili addicts like us. The Scoville Heat Scale determines how hot a chili is; the higher the number, the hotter the pepper.
Consuming Cayenne Chili powder will trigger your body’s cooling response. Anyone who has ever eaten anything truly spicy will know exactly what this response is and how it works.
Your body senses the capsaicin – which is what makes chilis hot – and processes it as heat. Your heart rate goes up, your start breathing more heavily, and you start to sweat. To ‘fund’ this cooling response, your body has to burn a lot more calories. This puts you in a relatively greater caloric deficit, which means faster fat loss without having to drop even more food!
Consuming chili in this way is really convenient; it puts you into a deeper caloric deficit without you having to eat less food, and without you having to eat really hot chilis!
The 100mg of 40,000SHU Cayenne Extract in BurnerTEK is standard for top quality fat burners today. It is more than enough for you to feel the effects, and it will no doubt contribute to a more successful cut.
Main Weaknesses
- Contains some useless dead weight
- Doses low in some important places
Despite the major strengths explained above, we don’t think this is a particularly impressive fat burner overall.
The main problem we have with BurnerTEK v2.0 is that it contains some useless ingredients that don’t actually help us lose fat or retain muscle mass in any way.
Obviously, we’re talking primarily about Garcinia Cambogia here. A lot of you will be surprised to hear this. Garcinia Cambogia is widely held up as a powerful fat burner. It is described as a fat metabolizing agent, an appetite suppressant, or a blood sugar control agent depending on who you talk to. Bloggers everywhere fall over themselves talking about how amazing this fruit is for accelerating fat loss.
In reality, it doesn’t seem to do anything other than make your food taste better.
The scientific evidence for Garcinia as a fat burner is at best inconclusive.
Take a look at this clinical trial, for example. Researchers here took 135 subjects (men and women) and gave them either a high-potency Garcinia Cambogia Extract or placebo for 12 weeks. Both body mass and fat mass were measured before and after the 12 week study period. The results were far from impressive:
“A total of 135 subjects were randomized to either active hydroxycitric acid (n = 66) or placebo (n = 69); 42 (64%) in the active hydroxycitric acid group and 42 (61%) in the placebo group completed 12 weeks of treatment (P = .74). Patients in both groups lost a significant amount of weight during the 12-week treatment period (P<.001); however, between-group weight loss differences were not statistically significant (mean [SD], 3.2 [3.3] kg vs 4.1 [3.9] kg; P = .14). There were no significant differences in estimated percentage of body fat mass loss between treatment groups, and the fraction of subject weight loss as fat was not influenced by treatment group.” (Published 1998 in JAMA).
The researchers could only conclude – as we have – that Garcinia Cambogia is no better than placebo at encouraging fat loss.
We think this stuff is only so widely used because it is cheap for manufacturers to buy, and with everybody well on board the hype train, it’s an easy sell. Never fall for hype though. The science is clear on this one – Garcinia is BOGUS!
Another major flaw in the BurnerTEK formula is the fact that some really important ingredients have been dosed FAR TOO LOW.
For example, BurnerTEK contains Glucomannan, but only 500mg of the stuff!
Glucomannan is one of our personal favourites. Taking glucomannan with meals is truly one of the best ways to help control your appetite, reduce food cravings, and prevent over-eating.
Also known as Konjac Root, Glucomannan is a very fibrous food. It is extremely high in absorbent, water soluble fiber. When combined with water, it quickly absorbs much of the water and expands, forming a thick, heavy paste.
This special property is why glucomannan has been used as a soup thickener in parts of Africa for…well…forever. It is also why it makes for a superb fat burner.
By soaking up water in your stomach and expanding, glucomannan quickly creates the feeling of being full without actually providing many extra calories. It then keeps you feeling full for far longer than you would from food alone. This makes dieting SO MUCH EASIER!
So, what’s the problem?
Glucommanan’s good, and BurnerTEK has some. That’s good, right?
It would be if TEK Naturals had dosed it properly.
Glucomannan works by creating volume in the stomach.
In order for it to have significant effect, you need to use a significant volume. Any of you who have used soup thickeners in the past will know that to make a soup or sauce really thick and heavy, you need to use more thickener.
BurnerTEK only contains 500mg of Glucomannan.
You’ll find plenty of reasonably priced fat burners out there that provide over 1000mg of glucomannan. Some top quality fat burners, such as Instant Knockout, contain 1800mg.
BurnerTEK v2.0 contains about one third the amount of glucomannan that we get from other fat burners. For such a central, vital ingredients, this is unacceptable.
BurnerTEK v2.0 Side Effects – Is It Safe?
One good thing that we can say about BurnerTEK is that it looks like a safe fat burner. We don’t see any of the red flags we always look for in fat burners – there’s no nasty synthetic stimulants, no aggressive diuretics, and nothing that we think will cause digestive problems.
The ingredients are all 100% natural, widely-used substances that are commonplace in fat burning supplements today.
They have each been tested thoroughly in clinical trials and have been found to be perfectly safe for human consumption.
The only thing you need to be careful of is the caffeine content; BurnerTEK contains 200mg of caffeine anhydrous (plus residual amounts in the green tea extract and coffee bean extract).
Caffeine anhydrous is caffeine which has been dehydrated – it has had all water molecules removed, meaning it is a lot more potent than normal caffeine. Gram for gram, caffeine anhydrous packs a much bigger punch than regular caffeine.
200mg of caffeine is far too much to take in a single serving.
Even if you split the dosage up over 3 servings, as you should, 200mg of extra caffeine per day is quite a bit for most people. To put it into context, your average espresso contains 60-80mg of caffeine. A Red Bull contains 70mg per can. A grande caffe mocha from Starbucks contains about 175mg.
So clearly 200mg is not a trivial amount of caffeine – it is more than enough to cause side effects, which will include:
- Jitters
- Sweating
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Anxiety
- Hypertension
- Insomnia
- Energy crashes
You really need to be careful when using caffeine supplements. It is really easy to accidentally overdose; you need to carefully calculate your existing caffeine intake from tea and coffee, and from any other supplements you might be using (e.g pre-workouts). IT ALL COUNTS! If you’re already consuming more than 200mg of caffeine per day as it is, then we advise staying away form caffeine-containing supplements.
Caffeine is addictive. It is habit-forming. It can quickly lead to dependency as people generally build up a tolerance very quickly. Take these risks seriously! Only use BurnerTEK v2.0 if you are comfortable with 200mg of caffeine per day.
Overall though, this looks like a pretty safe fat burner to us. Most users will be able to use it without issue.

Pricing – How Much Does BurnerTEK Cost?
BurnerTEK is priced slightly lower than some of the other premium fat burners on sale today.
The official list price for BurnerTEK is $69.99. However, the website has an incredibly annoying pop-up which will always offer you a $10 discount. So the price isn’t really $69.99.
A single, one-off purchase of 1 month’s supply will set you back $59.99.
If you choose the subscription option – where a new bottle gets delivered every 30 days – the price per month comes down to $50.99.
For a 31 day month, that works out at $1.64 per day.
For a reliable fat burner containing good ingredients, that isn’t bad at all. BurnerTEK v2.0 fat burner will no doubt make your next cut easier. For a lot of you, having fewer food cravings, more energy in the gym and faster fat loss is well worth $1.64 per day!
Money Back Guarantee
It’s also important to note that BurnerTEK has an “ironclad” 30 day money back guarantee. We’ll quote it in entirety here:

BurnerTEK Review Conclusion – Is v2.0 A Quality Fat Burner?
BurnerTEK v2.0 is not a bad fat burner at all. It contains excellent ingredients and the doses are pretty damn good in places.
We think a lot of you will see genuine results using this fat burner – reduced hunger, better appetite control, greater energy in the gym, and ultimately a more successful cut. We have no doubt that BurnerTEK, combined with diet and training that are on-point, will help you achieve your goal physique faster.
However, it is far from perfect. It isn’t close to being the best fat burner we’ve ever come across.
It contains dead weight, which we just can’t abide. Garcinia Cambogia doesn’t do a damn thing for your appetite or ability to burn fat. It’s a fad, and sooner or later it will disappear from supplements altogether.
Some of the ingredients are dosed way too low. Glucomannan is the only appetite suppressant in BurnerTEK, and it is dosed at about a third of what we get from comparable fat burners.
These are serious flaws. They really reduce the value for money you get from BurnerTEK. Your end results will no doubt suffer because of these flaws.
If you want to try BurnerTEK v2.0, then we don’t see any reason to avoid it. But if you want to get the most bang for your buck and the best possible results, we recommend using a more focused, streamlined, powerful fat burner.
Instant Knockout is our current top ranked fat burner, and it's little wonder why. It always ends up ranked as #1 because it consistently delivers real results to its users!
