Final Verdict
Zantrim is not a bad fat burner. But it is also far from perfect. It contains a large amount of caffeine which cannot be broken down into smaller doses throughout the day (1 serving = 1 capsule). We do get a decent dose of green coffee bean extract, which helps with blood sugar control. But apart from that, there’s not much to Zantrim; no appetite control, no chili extract, and nowhere near enough green tea. The use of Guarana instead of straight caffeine just muddies the waters. There are better fat burners out there for sure.
Our Zantrim Review
Zantrim is a natural weight loss supplement and fat burner from eBody. We aren’t sure how long Zantrim has been on the market for, but it has accumulated a large number of user reviews online. Most of the Zantrim reviews we’ve seen have been overwhelmingly positive. So what is this fat burner all about? What is Zantrim supposed to do and how does it claim to work?
According to the bottle, Zantrim is a “slimming aid”. Wording is important; it tells us who Zantrim is designed for specifically. Clearly, Zantrim is not meant to be a hardcore bodybuilding product or a sports-specific fat burner.
Instead, it seems to be sold as a general purpose weight loss supplement meant for everybody.
According to the official merchant page, eBody Zantrim delivers the following key benefits:
- Supports metabolism function
- Increases energy levels
- Helps control appetite
- Promotes fat loss
This sounds like a top-notch fat burner. If eBody Zantrim can actually do all of this, then it will be a really great supplement for people looking to supercharge their next diet.
The question is, how much of this is true, and how much is just empty words from eBody?
Does eBody Zantrim really work?
How safe is this fat burner? Will it cause side effects?

Zantrim Ingredients
Let’s get stuck into the important stuff; here is the Zantrim ingredients list as it is shown on the bottle:
That’s not a bad formula on the face of things. Zantrim contains some good ingredients in fairly decent doses.
It is hardly revolutionary, and it has many flaws, but it will still get you results.
That said, we will not be recommending Zantrim to our readers. In other words, it will not be featuring on our list of the best fat burners in 2019.
The Zantrim formula has many serious weaknesses.
It is quite over-reliant on caffeine. Caffeine anhydrous and Guarana together make up the bulk of the active ingredients. The only reason we use Guarana is for the caffeine content – aside from the caffeine, it’s just useless fruit.
There’s no appetite suppressant in Zantrim. We think every good fat burner should contain a powerful appetite suppressant.
This is actually kind of a deal-breaker for us; we struggle so much with diet control during the latter stages of a cut that we need something to keep the hunger at bay!
There’s also no chili extract, which means no thermogenesis. Again, this is a staple ingredient in fat burners. It is a very basic ingredient to leave out. The benefits of using a potent chili extract are numerous, so we don’t see why you wouldn’t add it to your fat burning stack.
Finally, the dose of green tea in Zantrim is too small.
So while Zantrim is far from a terrible fat burner, it is also far form perfect. We think there are far superior fat burners on the market right now.
Let’s get into these points in more detail.
Main Strengths
- Very large serving of caffeine
- Good dose of green coffee bean extract
- Contains some chromium
Although we wont be adding Zantrim to our list of top performing fat burners, we do think it is a fairly decent supplement. Zantrim users will definitely have a more successful cut than they would do without the product.
The main benefit of Zantrim is the large dose of caffeine.
Caffeine is an extremely powerful stimulant and a devastatingly effective natural fat burner. It reduces the perception of fatigue, allowing your to train harder for longer on an empty stomach. Caffeine also enhances athletic performance, meaning you can get in more sets and reps with greater intensity than you can do normally.
On top of that, caffeine actually has a direct effect on fat loss. Studies have shown that caffeine consumption leads to more fat loss than baseline or placebo (source).
Zantrim contains a massive 200mg of caffeine anhydrous and 75mg of Guarana.
Now, we don’t know how much caffeine is in the Guarana. This is an issue. 200mg is a large dose of caffeine to be consuming in a single serving – the chances of side effects are quite high at this dose already.
We prefer it when manufacturers cut the gimmicky Guarana and just give us straight caffeine. After all, caffeine is caffeine regardless of where it comes from. We’re not interested in useless Guarana fruit – we just want the caffeine!
But Zantrim’s 200-250mg of caffeine is a very generous serving. This is more than enough to have a significant effect on your body. This amount will dramatically increase energy levels, reduce fatigue, enhance your training, and even reduce appetite somewhat.
Then there’s the 150mg of green coffee bean – an ideal serving of this fantastic natural fat burner.
Green coffee bean extract is a common ingredient in weight loss supplements of all kinds.
It does not directly stimulate fat metabolism. Unlike green tea catechins, chili extracts or caffeine, it does not have a direct impact on your fat stores.
Instead, green coffee bean extract enhances fat loss indirectly – through insulin modulation.
In simple terms, compounds in green coffee bean called chlorogenic acids (often referred to as chlorogenic acid) help insulin to do its job properly. Chlorogenic acid consumption has been shown in numerous clinical trials to prevent violent insulin spikes as well as improving insulin sensitivity (source).
So chlorogenic acid smooths out your blood sugar levels – prevent peaks and troughs – while inhibiting the intense “store” signal that the body experiences after breaking a fast. This obviously means reduced hunger spikes, healthier energy levels, and reduced fat storage.
Zantrim contains 150mg of green coffee bean extract, which is plenty. Consuming this much on a daily basis will definitely improve your insulin sensitivity, which can in turn drastically improve your physique over the long-term.
Main Weaknesses
- Not enough green tea
- Some ingredients don’t do anything
- No appetite suppressant
- No chili extract
Zantrim definitely has its merits. We think this is a fairly decent fat burner, all things considered. You will see some benefits from using it.
But compared to the other fat burners currently on the market, we don’t think Zantrim is competitive. Regardless of what your goals are, there are better fat burners out there than Zantrim.
The main problem with Zantrim is – for us at least – the lack of an appetite suppressant.
Zantrim does not contain any substance known to significantly decrease hunger, help with meal satiety, or improve nutrient absorption. In today’s market, that is just completely unacceptable.
Reducing appetite is a vital job of any fat burner. Every good quality weight loss supplement in the world needs to have food cravings covered.
For us, the hardest part of any cut is the latter stages. This is when you are chronically hungry; no meal is satisfying, you go to bed hungry, and you wake up thinking about food. You know you only have a few weeks to your show or your meet, but it is extremely difficult to stay disciplined.
That’s the whole reason why we use supplements like Zantrim. They are supposed to help us feel fuller for longer after meals. They’re meant to give us natural substances which help us stay on track with our diet and to not over-eat or snack.
Yet Zantrim doesn’t contain one of the staple appetite suppressants we look for in every fat burner: there’s no Glucomannan, African mango, or even any Wild Yam. There isn’t even any BioPerine to boost nutrient absorption!
This is a massive hole in the Zantrim formula. For us, the lack of an appetite suppressant is a deal-breaker by itself.
Zantrim Side Effects – Is It Safe?
Despite the big flaws outlined above, some of you might still be keen to give Zantrim a try. We completely understand that – it is by no means a terrible fat burner!
But more a lot of you, a much more important concern is safety.
Is Zantrim safe?
This really depends on your own ability to process large doses of caffeine.
Each serving of Zantrim contains 200mg of caffeine anhydrous and an undisclosed amount of caffeine from Guarana.
Don’t fall for the Guarana gimmick; the caffeine from Guarana is the same as caffeine from coffee beans. There is more caffeine in Guarana than there is in coffee beans by weight. But unless you’re planning on eating the stuff, that doesn’t matter!
So we wish manufacturers would just give us straight caffeine anhydrous. Then we’d know exactly how much we’re dealing with!
What is clear is that Zantrim contains 200-275mg of caffeine (assuming a 100% Guarana extract potency).
For some context, an average espresso shot contains roughly 60-80mg of caffeine. Costa coffee’s espresso shots actually contain over 90mg of caffeine, while Nero registers just over 80mg.
So 200-275mg per day is like drinking an extra 3 Americanos from Costa Coffee. That is quite a lot of extra caffeine to be consuming each day.
But to make matters much worse, a single day’s serving of Zantrim is all in one capsule. You can’t split the caffeine dose up throughout the day – you have to take 200-275mg of caffeine ALL AT ONCE!
It doesn’t matter how good you think your caffeine tolerance is, side effects are going to happen at this dose. We don’t know anybody that can take 3 shots of espresso in one hit and feel completely fine.
Side effects are likely to include:
- Jitters
- Elevated heart rate
- Heart palpitations
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness
- Sweating
- Confusion
- Anxiety
- Irritability
- Hypertension
- Insomnia
Consuming this much caffeine on a regular basis is not sustainable long-term. The adverse health effects can include an elevated risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as dependency and chronic insomnia.
If the manufacturer had just split the dose up into 2-3 capsules, this would all be much less worrying!
If you experience any side effects whatsoever while using Zantrim, cease using it and seek medical attention immediately.
CAUTION
Please remember these facts while reading our fat burner reviews:
- This is not medical advice
- We are not doctors
It is crucial that you do your own research carefully before using Zantrim. Calculate your existing caffeine intake and think long and hard about whether or not you can add in another 200-275mg per day. If you have any concerns whatsoever, you must talk to your regular GP. Only they can give you the right health advice for you. All we can do is highlight the most obvious dangers for the average user.
Zantrim Review Summary – Is This The Right Fat Burner For You?
