Benefits

  • Good range of ingredients used

DRawbacks

  • Vitamin D dosed too low
  • No aromatase inhibitor
  • TEK Naturals could have used a higher quality D-Aspartic Acid
  • No boron or magnesium!

Final Verdict

This is a very strong supplement. TestoTEK was clearly made with the market’s top spot in mind; it borrows many of the top selling points from other successful testosterone boosters, and the end product is genuinely excellent. However, it falls short in some key areas. The dose of Vitamin D is significantly lower than what we get from Prime Male, and the quality of the D-AA is FAR worse. It also lacks a proper aromatase inhibitor (gyno is not a real concern, but it is still a major absence from a modern testosterone booster). Fenugreek boosts libido but not testosterone, which is another strike against TestoTEK.

These flaws are really disappointing. It TEK Naturals just upped the doses in the most important areas and included a proven aromatase inhibitor, we’d have a really special testosterone booster on our hands. It is still worth a try though. It will no doubt work for plenty of guys out there!

Our TestoTEK Review

TestoTEK is one of the most talked-about testosterone boosters on the market right now. It came out just a couple of years ago, but it very quickly established itself as a serious competitor to the likes of Prime Male and TestoFuel. In fact, the approach TEK Naturals have taken seems to be to directly challenge the big market incumbents, jazzing up formulas and putting their own spin on popular products. It’s clearly worked well; a number of years on, and TestoTEK is clearly still selling like crazy.

So, what does TestoTEK do then?

Why does it claim to be the best testosterone booster on the market?

Does TestoTEK work?

The TestoTEK website doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to making promises. According to the merchant page, this testosterone booster delivers the following core benefits:

What does TestoTEK do?

That’s one impressive list of benefits.

Normally, testosterone boosters limit themselves to talking about improving athletic performance, maximizing muscle growth, supercharging libido, and so on. You know, the things that are directly influenced by testosterone levels?!

But TestoTEK goes further than that. It promises to optimize heart health, “build” your cardiovascular system, and even enhance cognitive performance.

So, does TestoTEK work?

How good is it? How does it compare to the best testosterone boosters on the market today?

Find out by reading our full TestoTEK review below. We shine a light on the formula to see if it can really do all of the amazing things TEK Naturals say it can. We’ll take you through the main health risks, the price, and what other users have been saying. Have you used TestoTEK? How was it? Did it work? Let us know in the comments!

TestoTEK Formula – What’s In TestoTEK?

Let’s take a look under the hood and see how this testosterone booster really works. Here is the ingredients list shown on the box:

Ingredients list

That is a solid formula for a modern testosterone booster.

The ingredients are great; there’s a good range of proven, effective testosterone boosters. The doses are also pretty good in general.

Having said that, there are a lot of problems here too.

For one thing, the doses fall well short of our expectations in some of the most important areas – namely with regards to Vitamin D. It is now standard for testosterone boosters to provide more than 4000IU of Vitamin D. It is safe, well tolerated, and dose dependent, so there’s no excuse for skimping.

We also only get 2000mg of regular D-Aspartic Acid. We would like to see a little more than that, or ideally, a much more potent form. Some testosterone boosters use D-Aspartic Acid Calcium Chelate, which is much more potent on a gram for gram basis than regular D-AA. A dose of 1500mg of D-AACC is roughly equivalent to 3500mg of regular D-Aspartic Acid.

Cutting back is not what we want to see!

There are other problems too.

There’s no real aromatase inhibitor in this formula. While the most important thing for a testosterone booster to do is…boost testosterone…this is only half the story. Increasing your body’s natural production of testosterone is one thing, but the effects of this will be limited if your body is just converting this extra testosterone into estrogen. Limiting aromatase activity is something all top quality testosterone boosters will do. We get none of that here!

Then there’s the fact that Fenugreek only boosts libido – it doesn’t influence testosterone, DHT, or estrogen in any way.

All in all, this is a pretty good formula. We think it is capable of increasing testosterone levels in most men. But it is far from the best on offer today.

Let’s go through the main weaknesses and strengths in more detail.

Main Strengths

  • Good range of ingredients
  • Covers several different aspects of testosterone support
  • Takes care of Sex Hormone Binding Globulin

There are a lot of good points to this testosterone booster which are worth explaining in more detail. While it has its strengths too, we think a lot of guys will get good results using TestoTEK. We definitely understand why it has remained so popular all these years!

The main strength of this product is the fact that it covers multiple different avenues for maximizing free serum testosterone levels.

For example, each daily serving of TestoTEK provides 2000mg of D-Aspartic Acid.

D-Aspartic Acid (D-AA) is probably the best natural testosterone booster there is; it is certainly the most reliable and noticeably effective substance we’ve ever come across.

D-AA acts as a natural trigger for testosterone production in the testes. Once D-AA is absorbed, it tells the pituitary gland to start releasing Luteinzing Hormone. When your testes detect the presence of Luteinizing Hormone in the blood, they begin rapidly pumping out ore testosterone.

Clinical studies have shown that D-Aspartic Acid supplementation is capable of raising serum testosterone levels by a massive proportion. In one trial, researchers recorded a 30-60% rise in free and total serum testosterone levels (as well as an increase in sperm motility and other measures of fertility).

With many natural testosterone boosters we are uncertain as to how they work exactly. But with D-AA, the degree of certainty is pretty damn high. As this paper explains, we have known for quite some time that D-Aspartic Acid stimulates the release of Luteining Hormone (LH) and testosterone. The cited paper actually suggests that D-AA triggers your testes to release test directly as well as via LH!

Every testosterone booster needs to contain some D-Aspartic Acid. We like to see large doses when we’re talking regular D-AA, as we have in TestoTEK. More than 2000mg is preferable. But the dose we get here is enough to see results.

Stinging Nettle SHBG binding

So the D-AA that we get from TestoTEK takes care of boosting testosterone production in the testes. While this is going on, the Stinging Nettle Root Extract gets to work keeping test levels nice and high in the blood.

Stinging Nettle Root helps keep testosterone levels elevated once your testes have stated working overtimes. It does this by binding with Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG).

SHBG is a glycoprotein which readily binds with the three primary human sex hormones; testosterone, estrogen, and DHT. By binding to these sex hormones, SHBG renders them effectively useless. Once bound to SHBG, testosterone cannot act on androgen receptors, meaning that it cannot have any androgenic effect on the body. That means no strength gains, no increase in muscle size, and so on.

Compounds in Stinging Nettle Root called lignans effectively ‘take the bullet’ for testosterone and bind with SHBG. This frees up more testosterone in the blood stream, which means more androgenic activity – increased strength, faster muscle gain, greater confidence, and so on.

Don’t take our word for it though. There’s lots of evidence proving that the lignans in Stinging Nettle Root boosts testosterone in men. Check out this clinical trial, for example, published in Planta Medica in 1997. Here, researchers found that “Lignans may influence the blood level of free, i.e., active, steroid hormones by displacing them from the SHBG binding site”.

There’s some evidence that Stinging Nettle Root may work as a mild aromatase inhibitor. This study is often cited to support this claim. As of yet, it is the only study of its kind, and the effect on aromatase was weak.

Stinging Nettle Root Extract hasn’t been in use for very long. It seems that only the best quality testosterone boosters include in in any appreciable amounts in their formulas. TestoTEK provides 100mg per daily serving, which is enough to reduce SHBG activity and free up more testosterone for androgenic activity!

Main Weaknesses

  • Could use more D-AA/better quality D-AA
  • No aromatase inhibitor
  • Could use more Vitamin D
  • No magnesium or boron!
  • Fenugreek doesn’t boost testosterone, just libido

There are a number of problems with TestoTEK. Together, these issues prevent it from being a truly exceptional testosterone booster.

The first thing you’ll probably notice is the poor quality D-Aspartic Acid content.

Each daily serving of TestoTEK contains 2000mg of D-AA. This is about the bare minimum of regular D-AA we’d expect to see in a modern natural testosterone booster.

The form of D-AA being used is also basic. Some supplement manufacturers are now utilizing more bio-available, concentrated analogues of D-Aspartic Acid, such as D-Aspartic Acid Calcium Chelate. These analogues pack much more of a punch than standard, basic D-Aspartic Acid. This means that you can use significantly less and still get more of an effect.

It’s therefore really disappointing to see 2000mg of bog-standard D-Aspartic Acid in a testosterone booster which wants to be seen as a market leader. This is a bare minimum dose. Ideally, we’d like to see this much D-AACC. For regular D-AA, we need more!

Vitamin D dosed too low

The low Vitamin D content also leaves much to be desired.

Vitamin D is a staple testosterone booster. It is one of the first things you should try if you think you might be suffering from low testosterone. It’s cheap to buy, it’s extremely safe to supplement with, and it’s damn effective.

So why have TEK Naturals dosed it so low here?

2000IU might sound like a lot, but if you’re looking to support healthy testosterone production, then more is better.

Most good quality testosterone boosting supplements today provide 5000IU of high quality Vitamin D3. So many of them use the 5000IU dose that this is now pretty much the standard dose to expect from a comprehensive, premium testosterone boosting stack.

The 2000IU in TestoTEK really stands out from the crowd. It is certainly a decent dose of Vitamin D3. It is more than you will get from many generic Vitamin D supplements sold in health food stores. But it is now well below the bar set by the top testosterone boosters on the market right now.

TestoTEK is missing key ingredients like Boron

Missing Ingredients

One final issue we think it’s worth mentioning in detail is the fact that TestoTEK is missing many staple, standard ingredients altogether.

It contains no magnesium.

This mineral is essential for the synthesis of testosterone, as well as for hundreds of other vital bodily processes. A lot of people are deficient in magnesium. Many more people consume far less than they need to be operating at maximum efficiency. If you want to optimize for healthy, athletic performance and longevity, supplementing with magnesium is a very good idea. That is why so many testosterone boosters provide some!

It contains no boron.

Boron is not something that people normally give much thought. In fact, few people even realize that they consume boron in their diet. Boron helps the body process and store other nutrients. It helps the body retain both magnesium and vitamin D, which as we know are vital for the production of testosterone. It also seems to bind to SHBG, like Stinging Nettle Root. So boron is really a two-in-one T-booster. Yet we get none here.

It contains no proper aromatase inhibitor.

As we said above, there is some evidence that lignans in Stinging Nettle Root may work as an aromatase inhibitor. However, the evidence here is thin; there’s just this one study, and the observed effect on aromatase was weak to moderate. Plenty of other testosterone boosters contain substances like luteolin, which we know act as potent aromatase inhibitors. TestoTEK lacks this key ingredient which usually separates the top test boosters form the standard supplements.

These absences are not inconsequential. We’re not just splitting hairs here. These are the kind of ingredients which mark a genuinely excellent testosterone booster from the standard bodybuilding supplements you’ll find in GNC.

This is the main thing holding TestoTEK back from being a contender for our top rated testosterone booster!

So What Does TestoTEK Do?

It’s all very well us breaking down the strengths and weaknesses of the formula, but some of you guys might be pushed for time. You might not care about what the formula does or doesn’t contain. You just came here for a simple answer to a simple question: what does TestoTEK do?!

In short, TestoTEK does the following:

  • Increases the body’s natural testosterone production
  • Rectifies vitamin and mineral deficiencies (although it could do this better)
  • Binds to SHBG, helping to keep testosterone levels nice and high once in the blood

We think the end result of this will invariably be better recovery, faster muscle growth, and increased vitality.

TestoTEK User Reviews – What Are People Saying About TestoTEK?

User reviews are always of limited value. There’s a lot that they can’t tell us.

We can’t tell, for instance, whether or not the person writing the review is really an independent party – they could easily be a paid stooge, or even a direct employee of the manufacturer.

A more common concern is the fact that we can’t know if their approach was scientific or not. They might have been using the product improperly. They might have been taking multiple supplements at once. Their training or diet might be awful. There’s a whole host of things they might be doing which throw their conclusions off.

So we always need to take independent user reviews with a hefty pinch of salt.

However, independent user reviews can give us a rough idea of what we can expect from a supplement. They can also tell us whether or not a supplement is a total scam or not, so long as you know what to look out for!

Here is a selection of user-generated TestoTEK reviews posted online:

We’re not saying any of these reviews are particularly trustworthy or valuable. We’ve just presented a selection of testimonies which give you a good overview of what people think about this testosterone booster.

Side Effects – Is TestoTEK Safe?

Safety is consideration #1 for most of our readers. They don’t want to sacrifice their health – or have to put up with any nasty side effects – to see faster gains. After all, the reason most people decide to use natural testosterone boosters is because they don’t want to use dangerous anabolic steroids or deal with the long-term effects of TRT.

In our opinion, TestoTEK does not look like a dangerous supplement at all.

The ingredients are all widely used in testosterone boosters and other bodybuilding supplements today. Many of these ingredients are used as general health supplements; they’re sold as standalone products or herbal extracts.

All of them have been thoroughly tested for use by humans, and they have all been found to be generally safe.

In fact, none of them tend to even cause side effects. Of course a small number of people will experience a negative reaction. Everybody is different, and there is bound to be someone who is allergic to Stinging Nettle, or Ginseng, or Oysters.

That is why it is SO IMPORTANT for you to read the label carefully and make sure none of the ingredients are likely to flare up your allergies, sensitivities, and so on.

It is equally important to check with your doctor to make sure that the ingredients are fine to take given your unique medical history, not to mention current medication and supplement regimes.

Generally speaking though, TestoTEK looks pretty damn safe to us.

The studies looking at these ingredients never report a large number of participants experiencing anything worth mentioning. Unless you have an allergy, a pre-existing condition which makes these ingredients unsuitable, or something similar, you should be fine. Any side effects that do occur will probably be mild and are likely to go away as soon as you stop using TestoTEK.

WARNING

It is absolutely crucial that you remember the following facts while reading our reviews:

  1. We are not doctors or qualified medical professionals
  2. This IS NOT medical advice in any way, shape or form
  3. You must talk to your doctor before using any testosterone boosters

We don’t know your medical history and we aren’t doctors, so we can’t give you a tailored, detailed breakdown of all potential risks. All we can do is point out the obvious side effects that the average user might experience. You need to do your own research and talk to a medical professional before you use any of the supplements mentioned on this site.

If your doctor finds that you have chronically low testosterone, he or she may prescribe TRT.

Pricing – How Much Does TestoTEK Cost?

TestoTEK is priced in the same range as most professional, premium, top-quality testosterone boosters.

A one-time purchase of a single bottle, which gives you 120 caps – or 1 month’s supply – is $69.99. This is 99c more expensive than Prime Male, for example; a trivial difference.

Like most other top-level testosterone boosters, TEK Naturals offer significant discounts on multi-box purchases.

You can buy 3 bottles of TestoTEK for $189.97, which works out at just over $63 per bottle.

You can also buy 6 bottles for $319.96, which gets the price down to $53 per bottle.

We always recommend buying a couple of bottles right off the bat because it takes a good couple of weeks for a testosterone booster to really have a notable effect.

However, the 6 bottle option is probably a little pricey for most guys. What’s more, 6 months is a bit much to commit to in a single purchase.

We therefore expect most guys to opt for the 3 bottle deal.

Buying 3 bottles at once will have you paying $2.10 per day.

That is more expensive than some other testosterone boosters, but significantly less than others.

Money Back Guarantee

One thing to consider is TestoTEK’s money back guarantee.

The official TestoTEK merchant site states the following:

“Here at TEK Naturals we stand behind our products. We offer an iron-clad 30 day money back guarantee.

If for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, please return the unused portions to:

TEK Naturals Returns
1985 Riviera Drive 103-127
Mount Pleasant, SC 29464″

We think money back guarantees should come as standard. We also expect manufacturers to live up to them in a reasonable, honest manner. If you’ve had any experience with the TestoTEK money back guarantee, please share it in the comments section below – good or bad, our readers want to hear it!

TestoTEK Review Summary – Is It Any Good?

So, is TestoTEK any good?

In our opinion, yes. Yes it is.

TestoTEK looks like it is capable of stimulating your own natural testosterone production, reducing SHBG activity (thereby keeping test levels nice and high once in the blood), and ensuring that your body has everything it needs to make plenty of test.

We think most users of this supplement will experience faster strength gains, better recovery, more muscle growth, and a renewed sex drive (even with heavy training and a full time job to slow you down).

But is it the best option out there right now?

No, not even close.

There are several flaws with this supplement which really separate it from the best testosterone boosters on the market today.

There’s no real, proven aromatase inhibitor.

There’s no boron, or magnesium.

The Vitamin D dose is very low for a premium test booster.

The quality of the D-Aspartic Acid could be better.

Basically, in a lot of areas, TEK Naturals have really let themselves – and their potential customers – down. By making small but not insignificant changes this product could be a lot better. As it stands, it is good but not good enough. Close, but no cigar!
